I'm Hemstone Omollo, a Senior Backend Engineer with 5+ years building production Django systems — from REST APIs and async task pipelines to AI-powered SaaS products. I'm the founder of Voltageitlabs, a software development agency based in Nairobi, Kenya, serving US and international clients.
I work best when I own a problem end-to-end: architecture, backend, deployment, and iteration. I've built and launched Chasemyinvoices — an AI-driven invoicing automation platform with paying customers — and Tenantbox — a multi-tenant file storage SaaS for developers — entirely solo, from Figma design handoff through Django backend and AWS deployment.
My backend depth includes PostgreSQL schema design with deliberate indexing strategy, Celery/Redis background job infrastructure running reliably in production, and agentic AI workflows using LangGraph and OpenAI GPT-4 where the model decides which action to take next based on business context — not just returning a text response.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from Kenyatta University (2024). Frontend delivery (Nuxt.js, Tailwind CSS) and UI/UX design in Figma are part of my toolkit, but backend engineering and system architecture are where I live.
